What you can expect
We test about 50 kindergartners or 100 older students per hour.
On test day we arrive 15 minutes prior to test time to set up.
Our staff consist of the audiometrist and their assistant.
At the end of the day, we will provide the school with a list of all the students with either a pass or fail indication. We will give you the original copy of the audiograms for all the students who failed the 25 decibel screening.
It is our desire to provide the school with the optimum service, at the lowest possible cost. We want to insure that we are as efficient and non-intrusive to your school day as possible.
Detecting hearing loss in children is critical to minimizing language, academic and social problems that may occur. Many hard-of-hearing children are misdiagnosed as being lazy, having attention deficit disorders, behavior problems or learning disabilities. Early identification of hearing loss brings early intervention. Early intervention has life long repercussions for a child's education and future.
Agency For Hearing can perform vital services for hearing screening for students in your school. Hearing screenings are mandated in the state of California. We have over 20 years of experience in working with schools to provide hearing screenings and follow-ups if necessary.
We also provide screenings for preschool children, primarily through the Head Start and other low-income programs.
